Mammootty is an Indian film actor who mainly concentrates on Malayalam film industry. His original name was Muhammed Kutty Ismail Panaparambil. His career spans over three decades.

He is a successful actor with more than films. He appeared in dual roles in nine Malayalam films. He was awarded the National Film Award for Best Actor thrice and won Kerala State Film Awards for seven times. He received Filmfare Awards eleven times. He was the first actor of Kerala state to be honored with Padma Shri award.

Mammootty was born on 7^th September in Chembu near Vaikom in Kottayam district of Kerala in a Muslim family. His parents are Ismail and Fatima. He studied at Maharajas College at Kochi and law at Ernakulam Government Law College and practiced law for two years in Manjeri.
